2nd District of MisOcc creates District Anti-Drug Abuse Council
Ozamiz City – With their commitments and funding resources to curb
out Illegal Drugs proliferation in the 2nd District of Misamis
Occidental, two city mayors and 5 municipal mayors come together to jointly
implement Executive Order of the Provincial Government to strengthen the
campaign against drug menace that hampers peace and order of the district.
With the people’s
representative who now joins the campaign and make sure of his congressional
funds and support, Congressman Henry S. Oaminal of the 2nd District of Misamis
Occidental calls on the two cities and 5 municipal mayors to have a
collaborative effort with the provincial government.
In last week Press Conference,
Congressman Oaminal together with the Provincial Governor Hermie M. Ramiro and
the Municipal Mayors Rudy Luna of Don Victoriano, Evelyn Dumanjug of Bonifacio,
Estela Ubot-Estano of Tudela, Board Member David Navarro representing his wife
Elsa Navarro of Clarin, Cris Mahilac of Sinacaban and City Mayor Philip Tan of
Tangub City and City Administrator Mike Ochate representing City Mayor Reynaldo
Parojinog of Ozamiz City confirms to the local media of their commitment and
willingness to share funding resource in the strengthening and implementing the
Executive Order of the Provincial Government to enforce full campaign against
the proliferation of drugs in the district.
It may be known that during
the last Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting with Governor Hermie
M. Ramiro, thru an executive order the Provincial Anti Drug Abuse Council
(PADAC) had been reengineered and enhance direction to curb out illegal drugs
proliferation in the province.
With it, the Office of the 2nd
District Congressman and the LGU’s of Ozamiz City, Tangub City and the
municipalities of Don Victoriano, Bonifacio, Clarin, Tudela and Sinacaban
created the District Anti-Drug Abuse Council as the Executive Board while all
of their PNP Municipal Station Commanders will be their counterparts in the
strengthened campaign against the proliferation.
On his part as City Mayor,
Reynaldo Parojinog of Ozamiz City has already started to curb out illegal drugs
in the city, with his campaign Bag-ong Ozamiz Kontra Illegal Drugs “BOKID”
gained more arrest of illegal drugs pusher and ushers, with The Ozamiz City
Police Force and Provincial Satellite Enforcement Team of the Philippine Drug
Enforcement Agency (PDEA) big quantities of the dreaded drug “shabu” had been
confiscated and suspects were arrested and filed to the courts.
However some the cases filed
were dismissed in the prosecution, with this information, Congressman Oaminal
said that with the creation of the District Anti Drub Abuse Council with the
mayors leading the implementation one of its focused activity will be not only
be on information and education, run against proliferators, but also focused on
drug cases which were dismissed and will lobby to the Department of Justice to
reopened drug cases.(PJT)
