Drug Den accidentally found out by Ozamiz City Police Foot Patrol
Ozamiz City – A suspected Drug Den was accidentally found by the
Ozamiz City Police Foot Patrol on Sunday (January 10).
According to Ozamiz City
Police Station acting COP Police Superintendent Regino Oniate, newly seated
police head told Philippine News Agency that with directive to his men to
conduct police foot patrol 24/7 chances a suspected drug den when some drug
user’s scampered away and run to different direction seeing the approaching
police officers.
Police Acting COP Oniate said
that his men were caught unaware why people were running away from a house,
with this, immediate attention, the police foot patrol entered the said house
and found out that it was a drug den where drug user’s and pusher’s frequent
said house.
In the report of the foot
patrol, in plain view they recovered illegal items on the top of a table inside
the house were twenty seven (27) rectangular shape heat sealed plastic sachet
of suspected illegal drugs “Shabu”, forty four (44) small pieces of plastic
heat sealed containing same substances, five (5) pieces of disposable lighters,
one (1) roll of Aluminum Foil.
The police report added
further that said illegal drugs and paraphernalia’s were left by the owner of
the house in the course of evading, were after a Barangay verification by the
police it was known that the owner of the said was a certain Lydia Mabuyo y
Barola, 48 years old, unemployed and a resident of Purok 5, Barangay San Roque,
Ozamiz City a known liar of drug’s usher and pushers.
Acting COP Superintendent
Oniate said that they are now filing a criminal case against said suspect of
running a drug den pursuant to Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drug Act of
2002 as amended.
It may be recalled that with
the recent visit of CPNP Director General Ricardo Marquez, all police forces
under the Regional Police Office- 10 is now doubling their efforts and
strengthen their campaign against the proliferation of illegal drugs all over Northern
Mindanao Region and accomplished it mission particularly the Oplan
“Lambat-Sibat” or the police enhanced operations and implement COMELEC
regulations fro the upcoming National and Local Elections on May 9, 2016.
